Is there a better alternative to this game? Like GTA without being GTA?
(WARNING: Major salt below. Like freaking Dead Sea levels of salt.) Like holy shit. For a game that's been out for 7 years you'd think it would be able to function at a playable level or at least have some semblance of balance. I just wanna a good online crime sim with cool vehicles and weapons but everything in this game is ridiculously inflated to the point where you could 'grind' for hours and still only be able to afford a fraction of a car (Even the cars that have been from updates from YEARS ago have not gone down in price, like what the hell? I can't even access any of the cool shit in Story Mode either which is beyond infuriating). 'grinding' is essentially impossible in the conventional sense because you'll spend hours on ridiculously difficult missions fighting waves of bullet sponges for scraps of a chance for money. The constant errors and glitches don't help either. Take the heist prep delivery glitch for the yellow circle for example. Over a year ago my heist supplies just would'nt deliver for the Diamond Casino to the point where I couldn't progress at all. A year later and the same glitch is still present in the Cayo heist where I spend like 12 minutes getting shot at with supplies only to find I can't enter the Kosatka. Like really Rockstar? Over a year and you still haven't fixed this? I can send support tickets but they all lead to the response of 'oh we're aware and working on it!' Well clearly you aren't if its been this long! Don't even get me started on griefing, like who the fuck decided adding in the Specter from Saints Row was a good idea?! I absolutely LOVE getting fucking nuked by a dozen fucking depressors that I can't fight back against. I really wish there was a strong competitor in the open world video game market to take Rockstar down a notch. Its super ripe for the taking seeing as how low the bar is with the state of online today. FiveM definitely has the right idea but even that is just a derivative of GTA. GTA Online is a game designed for junkies, to keep you glued to a screen spending hours to get overpriced items in hopes you'll just cave and buy microtransactions (which are also fucking overpriced. The Megalodon card is 8 mil and cost $99. 8 mil gets you like 1 property with all upgrades, FFS a yacht is 9 mil. You're telling me a virtual boat is worth 3x the retail price of your game? What kind of brain dead toddlers are buying these things?!) If you're playing GTA Online in 2021, you've gotta be a fool, a junkie, or a masochist. Like fuck, there's gotta be a better alternative open world game than this shit. It has rekindled my interest in building a gaming rig just to play FiveM. (I started writing this during a loading screen. I need to get outside more)

PFA How's it going! Aeon Roleplay is in the process of launching a custom framework "SeriousRP" FiveM Server.
We're currently building staff teams and whitelist roles ready to launch the server in the coming weeks; development is complete and we can't wait to get peoples stories started. We pride ourselves on our community lead server, meaning we implement things that our community wants to see. My dedicated staff team will always ensure the integrity of RP is maintained and abuse of power will never be an issue. Our members have extremely high-quality RP which will be reflected throughout all encounters you have in the city, we encourage everyone who plays to let themselves go and really get stuck into the world of RP.
Our server has a heavy emphasis on faction roles and gameplay, really emphasising the importance of RP and making relationships in the world to further progress your character's story. Alongside this, interesting custom features will make for some extremely interesting character stories, some of which you probably would've never seen before, these include (and or not limited to):
BE ANYTHING! - We encourage any character backstories and will ALWAYS do everything we can to make it happen. If you want to own a casino, run a bounty hunting service, be a hitman (whilst following RP rules) or simply a homeless guy in his trolley and you demonstrate the ability to do so, we'll make it happen!
Factions - Ever wanted to be part of a gang or faction? Groups of organized people going about daily life; doing illegal and legal activities. Get a name for yourself and your crew and the map will demonstrate your faction territory, gives your competition a nice visual warning of where NOT to go!
Profitable Business - Providing you have the capital investment, you can purchase gas stations, apartments and houses and earn passive income through them. But remember, if you own a gas station you have to keep it topped up with fuel and set a fair price or people won't buy your gas!
Full Player Ran Drugs Market - We have a number of high-value drugs which are all controlled by factions/gangs in the server. If you've got the potential to be a king-pin the opportunity is yours for the taking.
Marijuana Cultivation - Although it's a small-time drug, buy some seeds and grow them anywhere you want. Personal use, distribution or farming for a friend... The possibilities are endless.
NPC Drug Sales - If you're a small-time drug slinger, selling drugs to make ends meet you'll be able to do this to the locals walking the streets. Be careful though, the higher grade drug the more chance they'll tell the cops!
Street Racing Stakes System - Looking to make money and love street racing, with the stakes system you can make money whilst you race. Just make sure you win!
Perma Death Enabled High Stakes Characters - When your character has started to be careless and make too many mistakes you'll be permadeath enabled, this means a select few other "rising" factions/gangs will have the opportunity to try and take your power; so you best be ready to deal with it! Or, be extra careful about how you conduct your business.
Events - We always aim to host RP styled events to help bring people out of their shells and provide a little more change to the city, some might include; Ex-con breakout bounty hunting, Sourcing high-value cars, Race tournaments, non-lethal weapons tournaments etc.
That's just a few of our main features which makes us different from everyone else, we'll constantly be building and expanding our server.
